Art and Design in in my DNA. From a very early age, I was mentored by my paternal grandmother in painting. We spent countless hours creating beautiful landscapes and scenic lakeside retreats on canvas. She truly inspired me to see the world in a different way and I credit her for the artist I have become today.
Having a thirst for the visual arts, I began to experiment with ceramics, sculpture and mixed medium artwork. My formal education in art began at Alma College in Mid Michigan. A native to the Great Lakes state, I always found my creative inspiration in the environment and nature around me. My studies expanded my creative horizons as I explored a variety of art forms, including furniture design, welding, sculpting, tile design, rendering, photography, and of course painting.
Today I reside on the west coast of Lake Michigan in Chicago, and continue painting extensivelly from a recently expanded home studio. I am constantly working on my next exhibition while working in a commission piece or two in between. I thrive having multiple pieces in progress simultaneously and rarely find a lack of inspiration for the next piece I set out to create..
